Abstracts

Creating abstract works is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of painting for me.  Most of my abstract work is achieved by utilizing the Impasto technique which involves applying the paint directly to the canvas and then working it with a pallet or putty knife.  This allows me to blend and layer the paint to get a wider variety of colors and textures in the piece.

I rarely name my abstract pieces because I would much rather invite the viewer to experience the piece without any preconception. This allows their  imagination and emotions to fully participate in the experience.
